Site EHS Manager, Workplace Health and Safety – Amazon – St. Thomas, ON
Amazon is seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team in St. Thomas, ON.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our associates by implementing Amazon’s WHS policies, coordinating the Global Program, and serving as the site’s designated first aid provider. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for safety, a strong understanding of local regulations, and a desire to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
You will be responsible for collaborating with the Operations Team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, lead safety audits, analyze WHS metrics, and provide training and oversight to the workforce. You will also lead and develop a team of WHS professionals, fostering a culture of safety and health throughout the site.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal WHS regulations and Amazon WHS policies.
- Conduct regular site audits to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Lead and develop a team of WHS professionals, providing guidance and leadership.
- Analyze WHS metrics and incident trends to allocate resources effectively.
- Provide training and ensure all site personnel understand their WHS responsibilities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce ergonomic and conditional risks.
Compensation & Benefits

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree and experience with implementing lean principles in an operational environment.
- Certified Safety Professional certification.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- Strong experience with both exempt and non-exempt employees in a site of at least 250 people.
Working Conditions
This position is based in St. Thomas, ON. The Site EHS Manager will work in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment that may require flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
The role involves frequent site audits and interactions with site leadership, ensuring that all WHS policies and procedures are strictly followed to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
