About the Role: Ramp Handler
This is an interview-based position working out of the FedEx facility at 3151 Aylmer Avenue, Richmond, BC. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for loading and unloading FedEx aircraft and ground vehicles, scanning and transporting freight across the ramp and within the facility. You’ll operate specialized ground support equipment (GSE) including tugs, belt loaders, and t-stacking equipment, and handle dangerous goods (DG) in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Working at a cargo ramp means following strict safety protocols and Canadian Customs regulations at all times. You’ll need to maintain your certifications through yearly recurrency training and be comfortable working varying shifts based on business needs. Responsibilities
As a Ramp Handler at FedEx Richmond, your work directly supports the movement of freight through one of Canada’s busiest cargo hubs. Every shift, you’ll be on the ground ensuring that packages and freight are handled safely, accurately, and on time — playing a critical role in the broader FedEx logistics network.
- Load and unload FedEx aircraft and ground vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
- Scan and transport freight to and from the ramp and within the facility
- Operate ground support equipment (GSE) including tugs, belt loaders, and t-stacking equipment
- Handle dangerous goods (DG) in accordance with training and regulatory requirements
- Maintain certifications by completing yearly recurrency training prior to expiration
- Adhere to FedEx Canada operations standards and Canadian Customs regulations
- Lift and manoeuvre packages up to 70 lbs unassisted, and up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
- Work varying shifts based on operational business needs
Requirements / Skills

- High school diploma or educational equivalent required
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
- Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with equipment
- Ability to complete all ramp training and certifications including GSE, tug, belt loader, t-stacking, and DG
- Good problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills for working in a collaborative team setting
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle the demands of a busy cargo ramp
- Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations considered an asset
- Bilingual (French and English) required if residing in the province of Quebec
