About the Role: Operations Manager
As an Operations Manager at Amazon, your day-to-day will revolve around leading large-scope projects, developing productivity plans, and mentoring your workforce. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to drive business objectives and continuous improvement across the site.
This is a physically active role — you’ll be standing and walking for up to 12 hours during shifts, working in environments with variable temperatures and noise levels, and lifting up to 49 pounds. You’ll also work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, nights, and holidays. It’s a demanding role, but one that offers tremendous growth within Amazon’s ever-expanding fulfillment network.
Benefits and Salary
Amazon offers a competitive total compensation package for this role. The base salary range for this Operations Manager position in St. Thomas, ON is $98,900 to $165,200 CAD annually. In addition to base pay, the package may include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Comprehensive benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being.

Responsibilities
As an Operations Manager, you’ll be accountable for the performance of your team and the outcomes of your shift. From building productivity plans to resolving day-to-day operational challenges, your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and the efficiency of Amazon’s fulfillment operation in St. Thomas.
- Support, mentor, and motivate both salaried and hourly team members to achieve their best performance
- Lead large-scope projects with meaningful impact at the site and regional level
- Build and execute productivity plans through forecast reviews, determining productivity requirements, and partnering with fellow leaders to balance workloads
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises throughout every shift
- Collaborate with cross-functional support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to meet business objectives
- Work in a dynamic physical environment — lifting up to 49 lbs, standing or walking up to 12 hours, and operating in variable temperatures and noise levels
- Navigate multi-level facilities by continuously climbing and descending stairs where applicable
Requirements / Skills

- 3+ years of employee and performance management experience — leading teams and driving accountability
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience in lieu of a degree
- Flexible availability including weekends, nights, and holidays to meet operational demands
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques (preferred) — a strong asset for driving continuous improvement
