Meat Lead – Sam’s Club (Walmart) – Woodbridge, VA
As a Meat Department Lead, you will be responsible for driving sales in your area and supervising a team of hourly associates to deliver exceptional service to our members. Your expertise in meat production will ensure the department operates efficiently while upholding the highest standards in quality, safety, and compliance. You will collaborate with other team leaders to ensure the entire club meets member expectations.

About the Role
As a Meat Lead, you will oversee the meat department, ensuring business goals are met and contributing to the overall success of the club. Your responsibilities include supervising production, training team members on product specifications, and engaging with members to assist with their product selections.
Additionally, you will drive business results by maintaining a clean, safe work environment, using digital tools to manage inventory and forecasting, and ensuring the department is appropriately staffed. You will also train and develop your team to produce high-quality products for our members while strictly adhering to all safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the meat department team to deliver on business plans, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain department quality and safety by adhering to company and regulatory standards, ensuring all equipment is used properly, and maintaining sanitation protocols.
- Engage with members to help them make the best meat selections, using your product expertise to provide personalized recommendations.
- Utilize digital tools to forecast, plan, and drive sales, while ensuring that inventory levels and audits are properly maintained.
- Develop and train your team by identifying training needs, providing resources, and encouraging career growth for all associates.
Basic Qualifications
Sam’s Club requires the following basic qualifications for the Meat Lead role:
- 6 months of experience in a meat production department or 6 months of experience supervising a team.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Successful completion of all job-required training and assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
Sam’s Club prefers candidates who also possess the following qualifications:
- Experience in meat processing, including boneless and bone-in products.
- Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
- Experience supervising associates.
