About the Role: Food & Consumables Team Associate

As a Food & Consumables Team Associate, your primary focus is maintaining an organized, well-stocked, and properly signed department. You’ll zone the area to make sure products are in the correct location, check for expired items, and ensure everything on the shelf is priced accurately. Attention to detail is key — customers rely on accurate information and fresh products every time they shop.

This role also involves following strict food safety standards and cold chain compliance procedures, including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, and proper food handling. You’ll be an important part of a team that upholds Walmart’s standards and helps Canadians save money to live better.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $17.75 per hour, with the actual rate determined based on relevant experience. Responsibilities

Working in the food and consumables department means you’re responsible for the freshness, organization, and accuracy of one of the most important areas in the store. • Zone the department to ensure product shelves, tables, and bunkers are organized and all products are in their correct locations
• Rotate stock and actively check for expired or near-expiry products to maintain freshness standards
• Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced at all times so customers have accurate information
• Adhere to food safety standards including cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, and proper food handling procedures
• Follow procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labelling products correctly
• Provide exemplary customer service in alignment with Walmart’s core beliefs and values
