Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Engagement Manager to join its Professional Services (ProServe) team in Calgary, Alberta. This role combines technical leadership, program management, and customer success — helping organizations design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions using AWS technologies.
As an Engagement Manager, you’ll lead complex cloud migration and digital transformation projects, working closely with enterprise clients to align AWS solutions with business outcomes. You’ll bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, managing multi-disciplinary teams while applying AWS frameworks such as the Well-Architected Framework and the Cloud Adoption Framework.
About the Role
In this position, you’ll drive large-scale cloud solution implementations, guiding clients through every stage of adoption — from strategy to execution. Your role will involve project leadership, risk management, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll translate complex business needs into actionable technical plans and ensure every project delivers measurable value.
This is a client-facing leadership role requiring strong communication skills, deep knowledge of AWS services and architectures, and a proven ability to lead distributed technical teams through agile, results-driven delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects across enterprise clients
- Bridge business requirements with technical solutions and ensure successful delivery of AWS-based outcomes
- Facilitate engineering and stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment on project goals
- Apply AWS methodologies such as the Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework
- Oversee multiple project managers and cross-functional teams under a unified program structure
- Develop technical documentation and define standards for scalable implementation
- Proactively identify project risks, resolve issues, and drive stakeholder satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives
Requirements / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 5+ years leading IT project delivery with external clients
- 5+ years in program or engagement management across multiple concurrent projects
- 1+ year experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Rally, or VersionOne
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management certification (APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, or PRINCE2)
- AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner, etc.)
- Deep understanding of public cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Experience engaging with C-level executives and enterprise clients
- Proven success managing large-scale digital transformation projects
