About the Role: Audiologist / Hearing Instrument Practitioner
As the Hearing Centre clinician, you’ll be responsible for conducting thorough hearing assessments — including air and bone conduction threshold testing, speech testing, and detailed case history reviews. You’ll recommend, fit, and validate hearing instruments tailored to each member’s unique needs, ensuring optimal outcomes through careful verification and follow-up. You’ll also handle impression taking, shell repair, and modifications as required.
Beyond clinical duties, you’ll be expected to maintain accurate and complete records, adhere to all infection control, privacy, and confidentiality standards, and stay current on all products and services offered through the hearing centre. You’ll escort patients to the testing facility and ensure a welcoming, professional experience at every visit. Occasionally, you may assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed.

Responsibilities
The Audiologist / Hearing Instrument Practitioner at Costco Richmond plays a central role in delivering high-quality, member-centred hearing health care. Every responsibility is geared toward ensuring members receive accurate assessments, appropriate recommendations, and expertly fitted hearing solutions in a professional and caring environment.
- Conduct hearing assessments including case history, air and bone conduction thresholds, and speech testing for the purpose of hearing aid dispensing
- Recommend and dispense hearing instruments through evaluations, fittings, verification, and validation of hearing aid performance
- Perform impression taking, shell repair, and modification as required for optimal hearing instrument fit
- Refer patients appropriately when clinical findings indicate care beyond dispensing scope
- Maintain complete and accurate records and documentation for all patients and procedures
- Adhere to infection control, privacy, and confidentiality standards at all times
- Escort patients to and from the hearing testing facility and ensure a comfortable, professional experience
- Stay knowledgeable about all hearing centre products and services to support member inquiries and recommendations
Requirements / Skills
Costco is seeking a fully qualified and licensed hearing health professional who brings both strong clinical skills and a genuine commitment to member service. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with the latest hearing technology in a retail clinical setting.
- Master’s Degree in Audiology or status as a Registered/Licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioner with full provincial dispensing qualifications
- Registered (or eligible for registration) with the relevant provincial regulatory College and/or Member in Good Standing with the Provincial Association
- Authorization (or eligibility) to provide government-funded services where applicable in your province
- Clinical experience in audiology or hearing instrument dispensing is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude in hearing assessment and instrumentation
- Excellent communication and counselling skills with a focus on member-centred care
- Proficiency in computer systems used for documentation and hearing instrument programming
- Bilingual in French (oral and written) required for candidates applying to Quebec locations
