Responsibilities
The Assistant Store Manager plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day success of the store. From supervising staff and maintaining merchandising standards to managing inventory and stepping in as Manager on Duty, your contributions directly impact the customer experience and the store’s overall performance.
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing all daily retail store operations and acting as Manager on Duty (MOD) in their absence
- Enforce company policies by ensuring all team members understand, follow, and respect Dollarama’s rules and regulations
- Oversee inventory counts in a timely and accurate manner to maintain proper resupply of goods and minimize stock discrepancies
- Uphold merchandising standards by ensuring established visual and product placement practices are consistently followed throughout the store
- Participate in recruitment and training activities for new employees, helping to build a skilled and engaged team
- Manage priorities efficiently, organizing time and resources to keep operations flowing smoothly during busy periods
- Travel within the assigned region as required to support broader store network needs
Requirements / Skills

- Minimum 2 years of retail industry experience — you understand how a store operates and how to keep things moving efficiently
- Team management experience — you’ve led, coached, or supervised staff and know how to bring out the best in a team
- Flexibility to work 40–50 hours per week, including days, evenings, and weekends as required by store operations
- Strong organizational and time management skills — able to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
- Excellent leadership and communication skills — clear, confident, and approachable with both team members and management
- Physical capability to work with ladders, perform up-and-down movements, and handle heavy lifting as part of daily tasks
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is required
