About the Role: Asset Protection Representative
As an Asset Protection Representative, your primary focus is deterring, detecting, and addressing theft and fraud within Loblaws retail locations. You’ll actively monitor store activity using CCTV and surveillance systems, compile evidence for court or arbitration proceedings, and partner with your colleagues and management to build a culture of AP awareness. You’ll also participate in store-level audits and community events, adding variety to your day-to-day responsibilities.
Success in this role depends on your ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You’ll regularly liaise with local police services, coach colleagues on Asset Protection policies and procedures, and participate in management meetings and huddles. A professional and approachable demeanour paired with a high degree of integrity is essential for navigating sensitive situations with care and confidence.

This position offers a starting pay rate of $21.00 per hour. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll handle a wide range of asset protection and investigative duties within a fast-paced retail setting. From front-line deterrence to compiling evidence for legal proceedings, your contributions directly protect Loblaws’ profitability and colleague safety.
- Deter and detect theft and fraud within retail locations, taking appropriate action when required
- Apprehend individuals involved in theft in accordance with provincial legislation and company policy
- Collaborate with other Asset Protection Representatives to investigate provincial or national organized retail crime (ORC) cases
- Liaise with local police services on a regular basis to support investigations and enforcement
- Investigate internal cases and compile and present evidence for court or arbitration proceedings
- Identify potential shrink opportunities through operational core compliance detection
- Build partnerships with store management through meetings and huddles; coach colleagues on AP policies and procedures
- Participate in store-level audits and community events

- Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence — this is a mandatory requirement for the position
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and Powers of Arrest
- Experience with CCTV and/or surveillance systems and a working knowledge of Windows-based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanour when interacting with customers, colleagues, and law enforcement
- High degree of initiative and integrity suited to a dynamic, independent work environment
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as part of a 40-hour work week
