Area Manager – Amazon – Lachine, QC

Amazon is seeking motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our operations team as an Area Manager in Lachine, QC. In this role, you will lead a team of hourly associates and be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, performance, and attendance. As an Area Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location, contributing to Amazon’s commitment to excellence.

Our operations workflow involves three main components: First Mile (where products are housed), Middle Mile (transportation to your region), and Last Mile (delivery to customers’ doors). This position provides opportunities for growth within Amazon’s fulfillment network, which launches new sites every year.

About the Role: Area Manager

The Area Manager oversees a team of hourly associates, ensuring they are motivated, supported, and aligned with operational goals. You will manage safety, productivity, quality, and delivery promises while collaborating with various support teams. This position requires physical activity and flexibility with shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you’ll contribute to Amazon’s mission of delivering millions of packages and smiles to customers daily.

Responsibilities of an Area Manager

• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of hourly associates during shifts.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and delivery standards.
• Collaborate with support teams, including safety, engineering, loss prevention, and HR.
• Lift up to 49 lbs and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach as needed.
• Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
• Work in environments with varying noise levels and temperature conditions, including outdoor loading areas.
• Climb stairs as required (applicable to certain sites).

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
• Experience managing a team of 5+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English (required for interaction with global and cross-provincial teams).

• Proven ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing environments.
• Strong analytical skills to assess and improve processes.
