Area Manager – Amazon – Bolton, ON
Amazon Canada is seeking a dynamic Area Manager to join our Fulfillment Center Management Team in Bolton, Ontario. In this role, you’ll lead a team of dedicated hourly associates and oversee operations that ensure packages are delivered efficiently and safely to customers. Amazon’s Operations network delivers millions of packages daily, and our Area Managers play a critical role in this process. You’ll manage workflows, optimize performance metrics, and ensure seamless collaboration between multiple departments to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Lead and Innovate in Fulfillment Center Operations
As an Area Manager, you’ll be the cornerstone of our operations. From mentoring teams to ensuring safety compliance and maintaining productivity, you’ll have the autonomy to make impactful decisions every day.
Our workflow spans three components: First Mile, where products are housed; Middle Mile, where orders are transported; and Last Mile, when they reach the customer. Your leadership will ensure each stage operates at the highest standards, creating a seamless and reliable experience for Amazon customers.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Motivate and lead a team of hourly associates, ensuring engagement and high performance.
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery metrics.
- Collaborate with support teams to align business objectives and achieve operational goals.
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Lift up to 49 pounds and perform tasks such as pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
- Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
- Adapt to variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Basic Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in employee and performance management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, or 2+ years of Amazon blue badge/FTE experience.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
