About the Role – Service Technician
As a Service Technician at Tesla, you will be responsible for basic and advanced diagnostics and repair work on Tesla’s full product line. Working closely with Tesla’s engineering teams, you’ll also play a critical role in providing feedback to improve repair procedures and ensure product quality. This role requires a collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
In this role, you’ll perform diagnostics, repair, and root cause analysis, and consistently document all repairs. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining shop equipment and collaborating with other teams to ensure that every Tesla vehicle meets our high standards.
Key Responsibilities for the Service Technician
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Execute basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work across all Tesla product lines.
- Provide feedback to design and engineering teams to continuously improve repair procedures and product quality.
- Work with a collaborative and inclusive attitude in a dynamic environment.
- Use a company-provided laptop for vehicle diagnostics and to access online training resources.
- Document repairs consistently and concisely.
- Inspect and maintain shop equipment and request replacements as needed.
- Collaborate with other teams to deliver exceptional products, including vehicle cleaning and detailing as required.
What You’ll Bring
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree/Certificate or relevant work experience in a related technical field (e.g., aeronautics, engines, electrical).
- Automotive Service Technician License, or a desire to pursue Technician Apprentice training through provincial schooling.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Section 609 Refrigerant Handling Certification (preferred).
- A demonstrated safety-first attitude.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English (French preferred for communication with local partners and for documentation).
- A valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s license in Canada with an acceptable driving record.
