Loss Prevention Specialist – Amazon – Calgary, AB
Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC is seeking a full-time Loss Prevention Specialist to join our Security & Loss Prevention team in Calgary, AB. As a Loss Prevention Specialist, you will play a key role in leading security services and asset protection efforts across the site.
This site-based position requires leadership in investigating security incidents such as theft, fraud, and workplace violence. The Loss Prevention Specialist will partner closely with internal teams to ensure effective crisis management and security strategies are implemented, driving performance improvements while maintaining confidentiality in sensitive matters.

Key Responsibilities for the Loss Prevention Specialist Role
As a Loss Prevention Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead investigations into theft, fraud, workplace violence, and other critical incidents.
- Prepare reports on workplace incidents and process improvement strategies.
- Analyze data and trends to identify potential risks and create actionable mitigation plans.
- Maintain confidentiality in security matters and personnel-related issues.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate security services and improve processes.
- Ensure the functionality of physical security infrastructure, including alarms, access controls, and cameras.
- Train new associates in loss prevention culture and security practices.
- Audit internal controls related to data center access and inventory control in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Minimum Qualifications for the Loss Prevention Specialist Role
To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in security services, loss prevention, asset protection, law enforcement, or military, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Experience in workplace violence prevention or business continuity.
- Analytical skills in a performance-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications for the Loss Prevention Specialist Role
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Ability to work independently with off-site supervision.
- 1+ year of leadership or management experience.
- Experience in conducting interviews and audits.
- Familiarity with warehouse or distribution center operations.
- Professional certification in Loss Prevention (e.g., Wicklander Zulawski).
- Experience with SQL, Access, or other data querying tools.
- Understanding of physical security systems and best practices.
