Warehouse Worker – UPS – Vars, Ontario, Canada – $20.50 / Hour
UPS is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Worker to join their team at the Vars, Ontario location. This is a part-time, permanent role, perfect for individuals looking to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning packages in the warehouse, ensuring efficient movement of packages to and from UPS delivery vehicles.
We are looking for candidates who are physically fit, capable of lifting up to 70 lbs, and comfortable working in a warehouse setting with automated conveyor belts. About the Role
As a Warehouse Worker, you will collaborate with the team to ensure the smooth flow of packages through the warehouse. Your responsibilities include unloading incoming packages from delivery trucks, sorting them by postal codes, and loading them onto UPS vehicles for delivery. You will work with automated systems and manual rollers, ensuring packages are handled efficiently and safely.
This is a part-time role, with shifts starting between 4:30 AM and 5:15 AM, Monday through Friday. The shift duration ranges from 3 to 5 hours per day, with a maximum of 25 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from delivery vehicles and trailers by hand.
- Sort and organize packages based on postal codes and destination charts.
- Ensure accurate scanning of packages and proper handling procedures are followed.
- Work with conveyor belts and manual rollers to process packages efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse.
Basic Qualifications
UPS requires the following basic qualifications for the Warehouse Worker role:
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg) without assistance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding warehouse environment.
- Ability to work with postal codes and routing charts.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday for a maximum of 25 hours per week.
- No prior experience is necessary; full training will be provided.
Compensation & Benefits
UPS offers a competitive benefits package, including:
- Hourly wage of $20.50 (includes base pay of $17.30 + $3.20/hr bonus).
- Guaranteed progression up to $28.39/hr.
- Weekly pay every Friday.
