About the Role: Talent Acquisition & Development Manager

At its core, this position puts talent acquisition front and centre, making up roughly 50–60% of the day-to-day workload. You’ll manage the full-cycle recruitment process for restaurant and management roles across Ontario, sourcing candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, referrals, campus programs, and community outreach. You’ll design and implement strategies that leverage automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and deliver a seamless candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.

Beyond recruitment, you’ll act as an HR business partner across franchise locations — coaching managers, administering policies, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Human Rights Code, and OH&S legislation. Your ability to balance compliance rigour with a genuine focus on culture and inclusion will set this market apart.

Responsibilities

This role spans recruitment, training, HR compliance, and workforce analytics — all within a multi-unit franchise environment. The breadth of this position means no two weeks will look exactly the same, and your contributions will be felt directly across the Ontario market’s operations and culture.

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for high-volume restaurant and management positions across the Ontario market
  • Source candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, referrals, campus programs, community outreach, and walk-ins
  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies, including AI and automation tools to improve efficiency
  • Lead onboarding to ensure new hires integrate smoothly into company culture and operations
  • Assess training needs across franchise locations and design programs for operational excellence and leadership development
  • Coach managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement
  • Ensure compliance with the ESA, Human Rights Code, OH&S, and Canadian immigration regulations under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program
  • Leverage data tools such as Excel, HRIS, and Power BI to track recruitment, turnover, training, and performance metrics
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the Ontario market

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in human resources and high-volume recruitment, ideally gained in a QSR, retail, or hospitality setting. You’ll need to be comfortable juggling competing priorities, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and driving results in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

  • Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s degree in Human Resources; CPHR designation (or working toward it) is an asset
  • Minimum 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in high-volume recruitment
  • Strong knowledge of ESA, OH&S, Human Rights Code, and related employment legislation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis); familiarity with HRIS and Power BI an asset
  • Comfort with emerging HR technologies, including AI-driven recruitment tools
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for travel within Ontario
  • Strong communication and coaching skills with the ability to build trust across teams and management levels
