About the Role: Solution Architect III, Platform, Public Sector

As a Solution Architect on the Google Cloud Public Sector team, you’ll act as a trusted technical advisor to customers navigating cloud transformation. You’ll lead technical conversations to uncover business challenges, architect tailored solutions, and manage the full delivery and consumption plan from initial engagement through to implementation handoff. Your work spans infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics, cloud AI, and beyond.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary range for this full-time position in Canada is CAD $194,000–$199,000, with additional compensation in the form of bonus and equity. Responsibilities

This role demands a high level of technical ownership and customer engagement across the full sales and delivery cycle. You’ll be expected to lead complex architectural conversations, deliver compelling demos, and transition strategies into executable plans for implementation teams. Here’s what the day-to-day looks like:

  • Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, participating in planning sessions and supporting targeted business motions
  • Combine expertise in business, programming, and solutions architecture to demonstrate the value of Google Cloud Platform through demos, pilots, and workshops
  • Architect cross-pillar cloud solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial delivery plans for customers throughout the solution phase
  • Facilitate post-business transitions by supporting pricing activities and handing off final delivery plans to implementation teams
  • Monitor delivery progress and provide support to cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration, and implementation phases

Requirements / Skills

Google is looking for a candidate with deep cloud-native architecture experience and a demonstrated ability to engage at both the technical and executive level. The ideal person brings a blend of hands-on technical knowledge and strategic thinking, and has a track record of building long-term customer relationships in complex enterprise environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field
  • 10+ years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • Technical stakeholder engagement — experience presenting to or collaborating with technical leaders and executives
  • Programming and systems design skills — including debugging, prototyping, demos, and customer workshops
  • Cloud and virtualization experience — including cloud development, on-premise development, or containerization platforms
  • Preferred: Experience migrating applications to cloud platforms and familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, and access control
  • Preferred: Experience promoting solutions in areas such as infrastructure modernization, data analytics, cloud AI, or networking
