About the Role: Recruiter (12-Month Contract)

As a Recruiter at Canadian Tire, you’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of corporate job requisitions, managing multiple positions simultaneously. From pipelining and sourcing passive talent to screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and negotiating offers, you’ll be responsible for the entire recruitment journey. You’ll also leverage tools like Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Indeed to keep everything running accurately and efficiently.

Beyond day-to-day recruiting, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in special projects in partnership with HR Operations and Workday Architecture teams. Building strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders — and communicating clearly throughout the process — is central to success in this role. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be at the centre of corporate talent acquisition for Canadian Tire, managing the full recruitment lifecycle from first outreach through to offer acceptance. Your work will directly impact the quality of hires across a wide range of business functions, making accuracy, speed, and strong candidate experience equally important.

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate job requisitions simultaneously in a high-volume recruitment environment
  • Oversee the complete recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, advising on selection, and extending offers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, candidates, and subject-matter experts
  • Set clear expectations and deliver strategic talent recommendations aligned with each team’s hiring goals
  • Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (Workday) to manage requisitions and maintain accurate recruitment metrics
  • Leverage tools including LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed to source both active and passive candidates
  • Participate in special projects with HR Ops and Workday Architecture teams as needed
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Canadian Tire throughout every stage of the candidate experience

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings proven experience in high-volume corporate recruitment and is comfortable managing a busy desk with multiple active requisitions at once. Banking or finance recruitment experience is a definite asset, and those with agency backgrounds will also be strongly considered.

  • 2–4+ years of corporate, high-volume recruitment experience; banking or finance recruitment experience is a strong asset
  • Full-cycle recruitment experience, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple job requisitions simultaneously at various stages of the recruitment process
  • Workday ATS experience is a strong asset; familiarity with other HRIS or ATS platforms is beneficial
  • Proficiency with sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and manage expectations with diverse stakeholders
  • Agency recruitment background considered a strong asset
