Costco’s pharmacy in Richmond, BC is looking for a licensed Pharmacist to join their team at the 9151 Bridgeport Road location. About the Role: Pharmacist

As a Pharmacist at Costco Richmond, your primary focus is delivering high-quality direct patient care. You’ll dispense prescription medications, verify and counsel patients on proper drug usage, check for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, dosage, and therapeutic appropriateness. You’ll work alongside a Registered Technician and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug therapy issues.

This role also carries a strong emphasis on patient safety and privacy. You’ll follow Costco Pharmacy’s established policies and procedures, maintain your continuing education requirements, and help foster a culture that actively reduces and eliminates prescription incidents. Supervisory responsibilities may include overseeing pharmacy interns and students when acting as Pharmacist-In-Charge.

Responsibilities

Working as a Pharmacist at Costco means taking on a broad range of clinical and patient-facing duties each day. • Dispense prescription medications and apply appropriate auxiliary labels with accuracy
• Review prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, including drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, dose, frequency, and dosage form
• Verify prescriptions and refills with physicians by phone and take verbal prescriptions as needed; select therapeutic substitutions where appropriate
• Educate patients on proper medication usage and answer questions about over-the-counter products while preserving patient confidentiality
• Conduct full medication reviews, including best possible medication histories, medication reconciliation, and medication therapy management
• Administer medications by injection and adapt, extend, or modify prescriptions as permitted under BC provincial regulations
• Recruit and conduct health and wellness clinics, documenting interventions in accordance with provincial regulations
• Order and communicate laboratory tests to the extent permitted by provincial regulations
• Act as Pharmacist-In-Charge in the absence of the pharmacy manager and supervise pharmacy interns and students
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education initiatives and keep all required certifications current
• Participate in a patient safety culture by reducing and eliminating prescription incidents and properly managing those that occur

Requirements / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy is required
• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in the province of British Columbia

• Patient care and member service skills to provide prompt, courteous, and professional assistance
