About the Role: Package Driver
As a Package Delivery Driver at UPS, your primary responsibility is to efficiently and safely deliver packages to customers in residential neighbourhoods. Responsibilities
Package Drivers at UPS are on the front lines of the delivery network, interacting with customers and navigating routes daily. Here’s what you can expect to be doing in this role:
- Deliver packages to residential addresses across Lachine and surrounding areas safely and on time
- Navigate routes using map books and area knowledge to cover multiple neighbourhoods efficiently
- Interact professionally with customers in both French and English at each delivery stop
- Handle packages of varying weights, up to 70 lbs. unassisted and 150 lbs. with assistance
- Comply with UPS appearance guidelines and professional conduct standards at all times
- Complete required documentation and driver reporting as part of daily delivery operations
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and UPS safety policies
Requirements / Skills
UPS is looking for dependable, physically capable candidates who take pride in their driving and customer service. The ideal candidate is punctual, bilingual, and comfortable working in all weather conditions throughout the week.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (or higher) issued in the province of Quebec
- Clean driver’s abstract — no at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, no traffic violations in the last 12 months
- Minimum age of 21 required for insurance purposes
- Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken) — regular interactions with English-speaking clients (~75%)
- Physical fitness — ability to lift up to 70 lbs. without assistance and 150 lbs. with assistance
- Map-reading ability and comfort navigating unfamiliar residential areas
- Availability to provide a driver’s abstract prior to completing the road test
