Manager, People (HR Manager) – Walmart Canada – Winnipeg, MB

Walmart Canada is hiring a dynamic and experienced Manager, People (HR Manager) to join its team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This leadership position plays a key role in enhancing talent management, engagement, and performance while supporting strategic HR initiatives that align with Walmart’s mission to help Canadians save money and live better.

As the Manager, People, you will partner with business leaders to drive a high-performance culture through effective leadership, workforce planning, and associate engagement strategies. You will provide expert guidance across all HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, succession planning, and compliance, ensuring that every associate feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

About the Role

This role serves as both a strategic business partner and a trusted advisor to Walmart’s leadership team. You’ll work collaboratively to translate business strategy into actionable people plans, foster inclusion, and drive talent development across the organization. As a champion for Walmart’s values, you’ll help create a workplace where diversity, integrity, and respect are at the heart of every decision.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual pay range for this position is $103,410 – $126,390 CAD, based on experience and qualifications. Walmart Canada also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental coverage, retirement savings plans, stock options, paid time off, and performance-based incentives.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to translate strategy into actionable talent plans and workforce initiatives
• Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, engagement, and leadership development
• Support and advise on employee relations, investigations, and compliance to ensure fairness and consistency
• Drive succession planning and talent review processes to identify and develop future leaders
• Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence to execute programs aligned with business goals
• Use data and analytics to identify workforce trends, mitigate risks, and recommend improvements
• Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and belonging across all teams
• Champion Walmart’s values of integrity, customer service, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in HR management, business partnership, or organizational development
• Strong understanding of Canadian employment law, HR policies, and compliance standards
• Exceptional communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
• Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive HR decisions
• Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams
