Maintenance Assistant – Costco – East Gwillimbury, ON

Costco Wholesale Canada is hiring a dedicated Maintenance Assistant at its East Gwillimbury warehouse (18182 Yonge Street). In this role, you’ll ensure all areas of the facility—warehouse, offices, break rooms, and restrooms—are clean, safe, and well-maintained for members and employees.

About the Role

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for janitorial services and general upkeep. Duties include cleaning warehouse floors, restrooms, and offices, operating floor scrubbers, handling cardboard and waste, and restocking supplies. You will also conduct perimeter checks, respond promptly to spills, and report facility issues to management.

This is an entry-level role—no prior experience or certifications required. Training will be provided to ensure you can follow safety and operational standards.

Requirements / Skills

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Clean warehouse floors, offices, restrooms, and break rooms using scrubbing machinery and manual methods
• Collect cardboard and trash; operate the garbage compactor and cardboard baler
• Restock janitorial supplies and report facility issues
• Perform perimeter checks and basic grounds upkeep
• Respond promptly to spills and remove debris/trip hazards
• Follow all safety and security procedures while providing courteous member service
• Assist in other warehouse areas as needed
