Responsibilities
The Linehaul Coordinator is at the heart of FedEx’s transportation operations, ensuring trailers move efficiently and on schedule across the network. From dispatching equipment to conducting yard inventories, the work is hands-on, detail-driven, and directly impacts on-time delivery performance.
- Collaborate with FedEx field operations to plan contractor and equipment needs for trailer movements
- Coordinate and track the processing and movement of FedEx trailers, rental equipment, new trailers, and dollies
- Manage locally domiciled Unassigned Team logistics throughout the Linehaul network to maximize resources and minimize tractor dwell time
- Direct dispatch of transportation equipment in accordance with the Linehaul plan
- Maximize cargo shipments by coordinating load planning while meeting package delivery obligations
- Enter trip details into the TMS system to ensure accurate, on-time trailer pickup and delivery
- Verify equipment location and load/unload status through yard inventories and yard checks; report missing equipment promptly
- Investigate and report schedule delays, accidents, and equipment failures; implement contingency plans as needed
- Coordinate with Safety and Maintenance departments to monitor tractor inspections and ensure DOT compliance
- Review trailer load condition reports (TLCRs) to ensure they are completed properly
Requirements / Skills
