Responsibilities

As a Letter Carrier with Canada Post in Thunder Bay, your daily routine will blend depot work with active outdoor delivery. You’ll play a direct role in keeping communities connected, and each responsibility below contributes to that mission.

Requirements / Skills

Canada Post is looking for candidates who are reliable, physically capable, and comfortable working independently in the field. Prior experience in customer service or delivery driving is an asset, but the key qualities they’re after are dependability, a valid licence, and the ability to stay on-call when needed.

  • Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record for at least 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
  • Physical fitness — ability to lift items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry loads up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly
  • All-weather availability — comfortable working outdoors in rain, cold, heat, and everything in between
  • On-call availability to respond to scheduling needs as they arise
  • English literacy — ability to read, write, and speak English (French also an asset)
  • Customer service experience is a plus, as is prior delivery or driving experience
