As a GTS Sr Broker with Federal Express Corporation Canada (FedEx) in Mississauga, ON, you will provide extensive customs brokerage services in accordance with Canada Customs and other government departments (OGD) regulations. You will support international trade compliance across a wide scope of legislation, including high and low value (HVS/LVS) entry processing and customer consulting.

About the role: GTS Sr Broker
In this position, you will handle customs brokerage work tied to international trade and multiple regulatory requirements, supporting the correct processing of entries and ensuring alignment with Canada Customs and OGD policies. You will work with international customs documentation and apply tariff and valuation rules, along with customs-related legislation involving areas such as agriculture, food and drug, and other government department laws.
You will also support customers through consulting and help ensure accurate classification and release processes, using strong mathematical skills and basic Excel, while maintaining required professional designations and annual recurrency points.

Requirements / Skills
Post-secondary: Community College Diploma or equivalent
Professional accreditation: Canadian Customs Specialist (CCS) or CSCB qualified professional designation
Experience (one of the following):
2 years current customs brokerage experience, or
2 years current rating and international experience
Must maintain CCS designation in the role and achieve annual recurrency points
Excellent mathematical skills
Knowledge of FedEx operations
Knowledge of international customs documentation and regulations
In-depth knowledge of customs, tariff and valuation laws, and OGD laws/policies (e.g., agriculture, food and drug)
Demonstrated knowledge of different agency clearance requirements and release processes
Excel (Basic)
Data entry: minimum 25 wpm on alphanumeric testing (preferred)
Physical requirement applies only for certain ports (as stated): ability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre up to 150 lbs with equipment if located at YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX
Preferred qualification: Grade 84
