About the Role: General Merchandise Associate
As a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart Truro, your primary focus is delivering excellent customer service while maintaining the presentation and availability of products throughout the general merchandise area. You’ll greet customers warmly, help them locate items, and step in to resolve any concerns they may have. You’ll also cover assigned floor sections, move feature merchandise to its proper modular home, and assist at the Front End when needed.
This role also involves contributing to a safe and hazard-free work environment by following Walmart’s company policies and procedures. That includes completing safety sweep logs, securing displays and fixtures, and communicating with fellow associates to ensure proper floor coverage is always maintained throughout your shift.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $16.65 per hour, with the actual rate determined based on relevant experience. Responsibilities
Working as a General Merchandise Associate means staying active on the salesfloor and making sure customers always have access to the products they need. Your contributions keep the store organized, safe, and ready to serve the Truro community every day.
- Greet and assist customers in a polite and friendly manner, helping them locate merchandise and make purchasing decisions
- Promote products and services and resolve customer issues, referring concerns to the appropriate team member when needed
- Cover and zone assigned areas of the salesfloor to maintain product presentation standards
- Move feature merchandise to its modular home and work recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other store areas
- Assist with Front End coverage as required during busy periods
- Communicate with fellow associates to ensure consistent floor coverage is maintained throughout the day
- Stock merchandise, downstock, and set modulars including flex modulars and new shelf caps; apply product protection when required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by following company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and securing displays and fixtures
