About the Role: General Manager II – Distribution

As General Manager II at DHL Supply Chain in Milton, ON, you’ll oversee the full scope of a distribution facility — from receiving and storing goods to shipping and continuous improvement initiatives. Your mandate includes developing and implementing strategies that optimize warehouse processes, reduce costs, and drive productivity across the entire operation. You’ll work closely with Operations Managers and frontline staff, building a culture of accountability, safety, and performance.

Beyond internal operations, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for customer relationships, maintaining daily contact to ensure satisfaction and alignment with commercial agreements. Your ability to present clear, data-driven insights through Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR) will be essential to your success. Safety compliance, vendor management, and profit and loss (P&L) accountability are all central to this role — making it ideal for a well-rounded leader with deep supply chain experience.

Benefits and Salary

DHL Supply Chain offers a national salary range of $82,000 – $121,000 for this position, along with bonus potential. Responsibilities

In this role, your day-to-day will span both strategic oversight and hands-on operational leadership. You’ll be accountable for the performance, safety, and profitability of the site — working collaboratively with your team and your customers to deliver consistent, high-quality results in a third-party logistics (3PL) environment.

• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize overall productivity
• Lead and motivate a team of Operations Managers and staff through coaching, guidance, and a strong team culture
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment
• Leverage technology including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and automation to track inventory and monitor performance metrics
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective services and supplies in line with commercial agreements
• Prepare and analyze performance reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and key metrics to drive continuous improvement
• Lead customer relationships through daily contact and the delivery of Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR)
• Own the site’s P&L, ensuring financial performance aligns with business objectives and customer commitments

Requirements / Skills

DHL Supply Chain is looking for a confident, experienced leader who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and brings a strong blend of operational expertise and people management skills. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in supply chain, warehousing, or distribution and can balance strategic thinking with practical execution.

• 5+ years of managerial or supervisory experience, required — demonstrating your ability to lead and develop teams
• 2+ years in supply chain, warehousing, or distribution, required — a solid operational foundation is essential
• Experience in 3PL and/or Contract Logistics, preferred — familiarity with third-party logistics environments is a strong asset
• Staff management capabilities, required — you know how to build, inspire, and hold teams accountable
• P&L management experience, preferred — financial acumen and ownership mentality will set you apart
• Project management skills, preferred — ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic setting
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred — relevant professional experience is also valued
• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience, preferred — tech-savvy leaders who leverage data to make decisions will excel here
