About the Role: FP&A Advisor

The FP&A Advisor serves as a key financial resource across multiple business units, providing technical direction, project leadership, and coordination among financial working groups. You’ll be involved in analyzing diverse business proposals, supporting the development of business plans and strategic plans, and delivering ongoing financial advice to senior management. Responsibilities

The FP&A Advisor plays a central role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring that senior leadership has the analysis and insights they need to make informed decisions. Day-to-day work spans financial modelling, cross-departmental project leadership, and high-level communication with Finance management — making this a dynamic, high-impact position.

  • Provide technical direction and project leadership across financial working groups for analysis of diverse business proposals
  • Support development of business plans and strategic plans, delivering ongoing financial advice to senior management
  • Demonstrate creativity and initiative in analyzing complex business issues and proposing well-considered solutions
  • Navigate open-ended assignments (greenspace analytics) with confidence and deliver results independently
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
  • Anticipate business situations that may arise and pursue them through to resolution without waiting for direction
  • Lead major projects by coordinating effectively within and across departments, keeping all stakeholders and Finance Leadership informed
  • Present to diverse audiences using diplomacy and adapting messaging appropriately to the audience
  • Train and mentor fellow staff members and actively take on leadership roles within the team
  • Initiate quality improvement processes and demonstrate consistent attention to quality in all deliverables

Requirements / Skills

This role is best suited for a seasoned finance professional who can operate with minimal supervision and has a proven track record in financial analysis and strategic planning. FedEx values candidates who bring both analytical rigour and the interpersonal skills needed to influence leadership and collaborate across departments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related discipline (a Master’s degree in a related field may offset some experience requirements)
  • Minimum five (5) years of directly related experience in financial analysis, financial planning, business consulting, project management, accounting, audit, or operational analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present confidently to senior and diverse audiences
  • Self-directed and proactive — able to anticipate questions, manage workload independently, and pursue issues to resolution
  • Bilingual (French and English) required for candidates residing in the province of Quebec
