About the Role: Food Service Assistant – Food Court
As a Food Service Assistant, your days will be filled with a variety of food preparation and customer service tasks. You’ll be preparing hot food items — rolling, shaping, adding toppings, and baking pizzas, operating deep fryers, steaming hot dogs and buns, and ensuring all baked items are properly stored in warmers. You’ll also handle cash transactions, process pizza orders from members at the counter and over the phone, and assemble orders for presentation to customers.
Beyond food prep, you’ll be responsible for keeping the food court in top shape. That means cleaning and sanitizing machines, work surfaces, counters, floors, pans, and utensils — as well as maintaining the self-serve pop area, condiment tables, and eating area. You’ll also pull ingredients and supplies from the warehouse, stock the shelves, cooler, and freezer, and ensure compliance with health codes including sanitation standards, temperature monitoring, product rotation, and expiration date checks.

Responsibilities
The Food Service Assistant plays an essential role in delivering a great experience for every Costco member who visits the food court. From food preparation and cash handling to cleaning and restocking, these responsibilities keep the operation running smoothly and safely. Here’s a closer look at what you’ll be doing day to day:

- Take and assemble member orders from the counter and over the phone, presenting orders professionally to customers
- Dispense dessert and drink items such as frozen yogurt, lattes, and smoothies, and maintain dispensing machines
- Maintain the food court eating area by bussing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, and emptying trash receptacles
- Clean and sanitize all machines, work surfaces, floors, pans, utensils, counters, and the self-serve pop and condiment areas
- Pull and stock supplies from the warehouse, including stocking shelves, the cooler, and the freezer
- Comply with health codes including sanitation standards, temperature requirements, product rotation, and expiration date checks
- Operate the trash compactor and follow all safety and security procedures
Requirements / Skills

- Physical stamina to stand, move, lift, and work throughout a full shift in a kitchen environment
