Responsibilities
Day to day, this role keeps Costco’s Business Centre delivery operations moving. From morning route preparation through to returning paperwork and payments at the end of the shift, the Delivery Driver is accountable for a full cycle of tasks that require precision, reliability, and strong member-facing skills.
- Collect and review your driver route sheet, truck assignment, manifest, member invoices, audit notes, resale cards, mobile phone, and map book at the start of each shift
- Conduct safety inspections of the delivery truck before departure, including visual checks of pallets and cooler or frozen items
- Operate a commercial truck with air brakes and hydraulic lift to complete all scheduled deliveries on your route
- Unload merchandise using a manual pallet jack, hand truck, or dolly and lower items with the hydraulic lift as required
- Verify deliveries with members, confirm item quantities and substitutions, and obtain appropriate signatures and payments
- Provide courteous service to members, including arranging delivery for any missing items by contacting the Business Centre
- Handle returns by loading refused or damaged items back onto the truck and issuing return receipts
- Submit all paperwork, payments, and equipment upon returning to the warehouse at the end of the day
- Assist with loading and unloading at the Business Centre and support other Fleet department tasks as needed
Requirements / Skills
