Data Center Manager – Amazon – Montreal, QC
Location: Montreal, QC | Company: Amazon
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding its infrastructure operations in Canada and is looking for a Data Center Manager to join the YUL team in Montreal, Quebec. This is a bilingual leadership role at the heart of one of the world’s most critical cloud computing infrastructures — where technical depth meets people management at scale.
As a Data Center Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of a data centre facility, leading a diverse team of technicians and operators across multiple sites. From triaging overnight alerts to steering complex escalations, every day brings a different challenge — and a chance to drive meaningful improvements in how AWS delivers reliable, high-quality infrastructure to customers worldwide.
About the Role: Data Center Manager
This position places you at the helm of data centre operations — overseeing shift scheduling, hardware logistics, queue management, and team performance across a 24/7 environment. You’ll collaborate with engineering, capacity planning, and facilities teams to keep operations running smoothly, while also serving as the primary call leader during large-scale outages and escalations. The role demands someone who can make fast, clear decisions under pressure and communicate effectively across global teams.
Beyond operations, this role has a strong people leadership component. You’ll recruit, train, and mentor data centre technicians, develop career paths, conduct regular one-on-ones, and build a team culture rooted in accountability and continuous learning. This position also requires that the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada, and bilingualism in French and English is required.
Benefits and Salary
Amazon offers a competitive compensation package to its employees in Canada. While specific salary details for this role were not listed in the posting, AWS is known for providing a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental coverage, employee development programs, career growth opportunities, and the resources needed to lead high-performing teams.
