Day-to-day, you’ll pack member orders, transfer items to separate carts or flatbeds, run for merchandise and supplies to keep lines moving, maintain a clean register/front end area, and assist with set-up and closing duties. You’ll also retrieve carts from the lot, operate a mechanical trash compactor/cardboard baler, and support the cashier during promotions while providing prompt, courteous member service.
About the role: Cashier Assistant
As a Cashier Assistant, you’ll greet members, load orders onto the conveyor, determine packing preferences, answer questions, and share information on special promotions while ensuring members are thanked and served promptly. You’ll pack orders into boxes, check packaging for tampering, and transfer items not on the belt to a separate cart or flatbed as cashiers scan them—keeping lines moving smoothly.
The role includes cart retrieval using a rope with clasping hook (no more than eight carts together), cleaning spills and trip hazards immediately, and supporting related front-end tasks like returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning. You’ll also operate the trash compactor/cardboard baler and assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
