About the Role: Asset Protection Associate

As an Asset Protection Associate, your primary mission is to create and maintain a secure and effective work environment for all customers, associates, visitors, and vendors. You’ll conduct facility patrols, validate the security of doors and showcases, and take action when needed — including making external arrests where required. Your work directly contributes to reducing financial and physical shrink, which keeps Walmart profitable and able to offer great prices to Canadians.

You’ll also play an active role in investigations — from internal theft and dishonesty to organized retail crime — while keeping store leadership informed every step of the way. Professionalism, discretion, and clear communication are at the core of this position. You’ll collaborate with store teams and, in relevant cases, coordinate with the Market Loss Prevention Manager.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum starting rate of pay for this position is $19.35 per hour, with the actual rate determined based on your relevant experience. Responsibilities

Day to day, an Asset Protection Associate at Walmart is responsible for keeping the entire store environment safe, secure, and running smoothly. These responsibilities are vital to protecting both the business and every person who walks through the door — associates, customers, and vendors alike.

• Conduct daily patrols of the facility, ensuring doors and showcases are secure and functioning properly
• Make external arrests when necessary, following Walmart Canada policies and applicable law
• Investigate financial and physical shrink incidents and communicate findings to Store Leadership or the Market Loss Prevention Manager as appropriate
• Support store evacuation procedures during fire alarms or other emergencies
• Participate in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall operations
• Conduct and support investigations related to internal theft, dishonesty, organized retail crime, and Global Ethics cases — in a timely, thorough, and policy-compliant manner
• Communicate clearly with various stakeholders, clarifying complex issues and presenting different perspectives effectively

• Security Guard Licence — this is a required minimum qualification for this position
