What Does a Baker Do at Costco?

As a Baker, you’ll work with large-scale equipment and ingredients to produce a wide variety of baked goods. Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and Mix: Measure, assemble, and mix large quantities of ingredients according to Costco’s formulas using power equipment.
• Baking: Operate large ovens, monitor temperatures, and bake a variety of goods, including bread, pastries, and muffins.
• Product Shaping: Roll, cut, and shape dough for different baked items and transfer raw products to raising rooms.
• Quality Assurance: Follow health codes and safety standards while monitoring sanitation, temperatures, and pull dates.
• Team Collaboration: Assist with other bakery duties as needed and provide excellent member service.

What You’ll Bring

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety Certification – Level 1 (required on the first day).
• Experience: Previous baking experience is required.
• Skills: Ability to operate large power mixers and other baking equipment.
• Other: A commitment to following safety and health regulations.
