Amazon’s Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) team is seeking an experienced Manager to join our North American team, serving as the central RME Point of Contact (POC) across multiple Amazon sites. You will provide primary support to the Amazon delivery station network, leading teams and initiatives focused on the optimization of maintenance, repair, and vendor management operations across the Global Specialty Fulfillment sector. What Does a Manager in Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering Do at Amazon?
As a Regional Portfolio Manager within the RME division, you’ll be responsible for strategic and tactical leadership across multiple sites on maintenance, repair, and vendor management. The role requires strong collaboration, influencing, and relationship skills from all levels of the organization. You will work on complex projects including engineering and commissioning, manage vendor performance in support of Amazon’s high standards for operational excellence.
Your scope will include managing technical and operational teams, overseeing vendors, and informing long-term strategy development. You will also be expected to mentor and technologically guide various cross-functional teams, vendors, and senior leaders across Amazon Business Units to ensure that maintenance operations across Amazon maintain the highest level of reliability and efficiency.

In this role, you will be expected to:
- Lead and manage engineering and commissioning related to complex projects.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams, vendors, and other Amazon business units.
- Coordinate information between teams to ensure alignment on project goals and execution.
- Develop and implement long-term strategies to improve cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Source, negotiate, and hold vendors accountable to key performance indicators (KPIs) and service standards.
- Manage a team of 10 direct reports and oversee performance metrics.
- Travel up to 70% within the North East states to support regional operations and business needs.

Basic Qualifications for RME Manager at Amazon
The candidate applying for this position must meet the following basic qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in employee and performance management.
- 5+ years of experience in distribution or manufacturing, with mechanical or electrical expertise.
- 7+ years of experience in facilities management, corporate administrative services, or related fields.
- A Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, nights, or holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications for Enhanced Career Growth
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with design review processes incorporating electrical, mechanical, and automation controls.
- Knowledge of automated conveyor systems and controls, industrial electrical systems, and schematic reading.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preventive maintenance, and industrial electronics.
