WHS Specialist – Amazon – London, ON

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services is hiring a full-time Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Specialist in London, Ontario. In this role, you’ll act as the designated safety representative for your assigned building, coordinating and implementing Amazon’s Global Workplace Health & Safety Program. Your mission will be to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with Canadian OHS laws, and maintain a safe, healthy, and efficient workplace for all associates.

As a WHS Specialist, you’ll conduct risk assessments, monitor workplace conditions, and recommend ergonomic improvements and safety measures. You will also provide training, coaching, and daily support to associates and managers, while tracking and reporting safety metrics to both local leadership and corporate teams.

About the Role

In this position, you’ll manage daily, weekly, and monthly safety metrics, support compliance with corporate and provincial safety standards, and identify potential hazards through Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). You’ll collaborate with managers to implement risk mitigation strategies, ensure adherence to workplace safety procedures, and provide guidance on new equipment introductions.

This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as you’ll coach employees on safe work practices, deliver safety trainings, and maintain accurate records. Success in this role means reducing risks, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture where employee health and safety is always the top priority.

Requirements / Skills

• 1+ years of experience in a Workplace Health & Safety related field
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of Canadian OHS Provincial Laws
• Experience with Microsoft Word in a professional environment
• Ability to handle confidential workplace information

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in emergency response
• Background in worker’s compensation case management
• Strong communication and coaching skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts (days, nights, weekends)
