Amazon’s fulfillment operations in Cambridge, Ontario are looking for a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Specialist to join their team. This is a hands-on safety role where you’ll be the designated safety champion at the building level — working directly with associates and leadership to build a stronger, safer workplace culture from the ground up.

As a WHS Specialist at Amazon, you’ll take ownership of daily safety audits, risk assessments, and injury prevention initiatives. Benefits and Salary
This position offers a base salary range of $29.00 to $40.00 CAD per hour. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs), with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, and basic life & AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and access to additional resources to support health and well-being.

Responsibilities
The WHS Specialist role at Amazon is multifaceted — blending program management, field presence, and people leadership. You’ll be expected to be visible on the floor, engaged with associates, and proactive in identifying and addressing risks before they become incidents.
- Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments to identify and address hazards

- Serve as a safety advocate for associates, building trust and strong partnerships across all levels of the organization

- Conduct job hazard analyses and review new processes and equipment for potential safety concerns
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workplace safety while maintaining operational efficiency
Requirements / Skills
Amazon is looking for a candidate with a solid foundation in environmental health and safety who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, large-scale fulfillment environment. Strong communication and a genuine commitment to protecting people are just as important as technical knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent required as a minimum educational credential
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
- Minimum 1 year of EHS experience, OR a bachelor’s degree in a relevant EHS field, OR 6 months performing a safety-related role within Amazon
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional setting
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues
- Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field is preferred, as is experience in workers’ compensation case management
- Emergency response experience and current First Aid and CPR certifications are considered strong assets
- Physical ability to lift up to 49 lbs, stand/walk for up to 12 hours, and work in variable temperature environments
