Wellness WHS Specialist – Amazon – St. Thomas, ON

Amazon is seeking a motivated and experienced Wellness WHS Specialist to join its Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team in St. Thomas, ON. In this role, you’ll be the designated safety representative for your assigned fulfillment center, coordinating and implementing Amazon’s Global WHS Program. About the Role

As a Wellness WHS Specialist, you will analyze tasks for ergonomic risks, provide Level One first aid treatment, and coach associates on safe work practices. You will frequently spend time on the floor interacting with employees and managers, conducting risk assessments, and leading safety initiatives such as daily stretching routines. Your efforts will help minimize injuries, ensure compliance, and create a safer, healthier workplace.

In addition, you’ll collaborate with leadership to improve safety processes, track incidents and trends, and propose solutions that enhance operational efficiency while protecting employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct ergonomic risk assessments and provide recommendations for safer workflows.
• Deliver conservative care and Level One first aid to injured associates.
• Lead daily stretching and injury-prevention activities during start-up meetings.
• Perform audits and support incident investigations, particularly for soft tissue injuries.
• Track safety metrics, evaluate trends, and implement action plans to reduce risks.
• Coach associates and managers on safe work habits and proper body mechanics.
• Provide immediate aid or assistance to associates, visitors, or vendors in need.
• Support training initiatives and help other leaders complete their WHS responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Ergonomics, Kinesiology, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in workplace matters.
• Preferred: Experience as an Injury Prevention Specialist or Athletic Trainer.
• Knowledge of WSIB/WorkSafe BC and OSHA regulations.
• Strong skills in communication, analysis, teamwork, and problem-solving.
