Wellness WHS Specialist – Amazon – Barrhaven, ON

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services is hiring a Wellness WHS Specialist in Barrhaven, Ontario. In this role, you will lead efforts to promote employee health, safety, and ergonomics inside Amazon’s fulfillment centers. The mission is to build a safe, healthy, and efficient workplace by empowering associates with the right tools, training, and resources to prevent injuries and maintain overall well-being.

As a Wellness Specialist, you’ll coordinate and implement Amazon’s Global Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Program, conducting ergonomic assessments, coaching employees on safe work practices, and delivering injury prevention initiatives. This position is ideal for professionals with a background in athletic training, kinesiology, ergonomics, or similar fields who want to make a direct impact on employee health and safety in a fast-paced logistics environment.

About the Role

The Wellness WHS Specialist will analyze job functions for potential risks, perform biomechanical assessments, and provide Level One first aid when necessary. You’ll play an active role on the warehouse floor, observing work habits, leading stretching routines, and educating employees on safe body mechanics. You’ll also participate in investigations of workplace incidents, track injury trends, and recommend action plans to reduce risks.

This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as you’ll collaborate with managers, safety teams, and associates to ensure compliance with Amazon standards and Canadian health and safety regulations. Your expertise will help Amazon maintain a safe, healthy, and productive workplace while reducing risks and improving overall employee well-being.

Requirements / Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Ergonomics, Kinesiology, or related field
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional setting
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in workplace matters
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an Injury Prevention Specialist, Athletic Trainer, or similar role
• Knowledge of WSIB/WorkSafe BC and OSHA regulations
• Proven ability to conduct job hazard and safety analyses
• Calm demeanor in emergency situations
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
