About the Role: UX Researcher

As a UX Researcher on the WWGS team, you’ll independently lead end-to-end research projects using a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. From usability studies and generative discovery to surveys and contextual inquiry, you’ll design studies that answer meaningful questions and surface insights that product and design teams can act on. You’ll translate complex findings into compelling narratives that help stakeholders understand customer needs and make confident, informed decisions.

You’ll also contribute to Guided Self-Service research initiatives, helping product teams run lightweight research with appropriate support. Collaboration is central to this role — you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and leadership, presenting findings through clear reports, presentations, and research artifacts. Team knowledge-sharing and contributing to research standards are also part of how you’ll make an impact beyond individual studies.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary range for this UX Researcher position in Vancouver is $83,900 to $140,100 CAD annually. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, and basic life & AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being.

Responsibilities

As a UX Researcher at Amazon WWGS, your day-to-day work centres on delivering research that is rigorous, relevant, and actionable. You’ll own studies from start to finish and serve as a trusted partner to the teams relying on your insights to make better product decisions.

  • Design and conduct end-to-end research studies using both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Synthesize findings into clear insights and concrete recommendations that drive product and design decisions
  • Partner with UX designers, product managers, and business stakeholders to identify research opportunities and integrate insights into the product development lifecycle
  • Communicate research findings to cross-functional teams and leadership through presentations, reports, and research artifacts
  • Contribute to team research standards, processes, and knowledge-sharing practices
  • Support Guided Self-Service research initiatives, enabling product teams to run lightweight research with appropriate guidance
  • Leverage AI tools to increase research velocity and reduce workload where appropriate

Requirements / Skills

Amazon is looking for a curious and self-directed researcher who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate brings proven experience running research end-to-end and a track record of translating findings into impact. A portfolio demonstrating past research work is required as part of the application.

  • 3+ years of experience leading user research projects with demonstrated business or product impact
  • Bachelor’s degree in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field
  • End-to-end research experience covering study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, and reporting
  • Proficiency across multiple methods including lab-based testing, remote testing, iterative prototype testing, and survey design
  • Portfolio demonstrating past deliverables such as study plans, reports, and personas
  • Master’s degree in Human Factors, HCDE, or Cognitive Psychology is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of quantitative data analysis and statistics is a plus
  • Experience conducting research in a global context or within an Agile/Scrum environment is advantageous
