UX Designer, Finance Automation – Amazon – Toronto, ON
Location: Toronto, ON | Company: Amazon
Amazon’s Finance Automation (FinAuto) Experience Design team is hiring a UX Designer to help transform how finance operations work at scale. Based in Toronto, Ontario, this role sits at the intersection of AI, automation, and human-centred design — building intelligent tools that empower Amazon’s global FinOps teams to work smarter, not harder.
This isn’t a role for designers who prefer clear briefs and predictable outcomes. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous space — owning design from early concept exploration all the way through to launch and iteration. If you thrive in complexity and love designing systems that solve real operational problems at massive scale, this opportunity is worth your attention.
About the Role: UX Designer, Finance Automation (FinAuto)
Amazon’s global Finance Operations processes millions of transactions every day. Manual workflows create bottlenecks, errors compound, and finance teams lose valuable time on repetitive tasks. The FinAuto Experience Design team exists to eliminate those inefficiencies — leveraging AI and automation to build scalable, human-in-the-loop (HITL) tools that give finance professionals the power to focus on strategic work. As the UX Designer on this team, you’ll own end-to-end design across all phases of product development, from 0→1 product creation to evolving mature global platforms. You’ll translate loosely defined problem spaces into clear, executable design solutions in close partnership with Product Management, UX Research, Engineering, and business stakeholders.
Design decisions here have real operational weight — your work will directly reduce overhead, eliminate manual errors, and improve financial accuracy across Amazon’s worldwide operations. You’ll contribute to and evolve the team’s design system and component library, participate in peer design reviews, and proactively drive customer understanding through lightweight research and concept testing. This is a highly collaborative role that demands both systems thinking and the ability to navigate emerging technologies responsibly.
Benefits and Salary
Amazon offers a competitive base salary for this position ranging from $74,300 to $124,000 CAD annually for the Toronto location. Total compensation may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being.
