About the Role: Tire Centre Sales Assistant

Responsibilities
Working in the Tire Centre at Costco means wearing a few different hats throughout the day. You’ll be engaging directly with members, managing the back-end of tire appointments, and keeping the department running efficiently. Here’s what you can expect on a typical shift:
- Assist members in determining their tire needs, answering questions, and making product recommendations using the 5 steps of selling
- Handle all incoming phone calls, respond to member inquiries, and provide accurate price quotes
- Manage the .CA appointment program, including booking appointments, organizing special orders, and responding to emails in a timely manner
- Create tire purchase and service invoices, process payments accurately (cash, cheque, credit, debit), and issue receipts
- Stock, tag, and organize all tires on the sales floor and in steel storage in accordance with the Tire Centre manager’s merchandising plan
- Communicate with the Tire Centre manager, buyers, receiving, and inventory auditors regarding special orders, pricing, delivery, and promotions
- Assist with vehicle handling — driving member vehicles into the service bay and parking them after service
- Maintain a clean work area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping the sales floor
- Assist with propane refills at qualifying locations once provincially certified, following all safety guidelines
Requirements / Skills
Costco is looking for a candidate who is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a physical, fast-moving retail setting. You should be someone who takes pride in delivering prompt and courteous member service and can stay organized while managing multiple tasks at once.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver’s licence required — you will be operating member vehicles
- Must pass the Costco Tire certification test as part of onboarding
- Propane certification required within 30 days at locations offering propane services
- Previous tire installation or tire sales experience is a strong asset and will be given preference
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in person and over the phone
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently and with a sense of urgency throughout the day
