As a Tax Analyst, you’ll be part of a team that drives solutions to standardize and transform tax processes, ensuring that they scale as the business grows. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with the latest technology and Amazon tools to deliver optimal support for US Federal income tax filings and worldwide tax provisions.

About the Role
In this role, you will perform detailed data research and analysis of large-scale financial datasets, identify opportunities for process improvement, and develop tax models to support US Federal income tax filings.
You will collaborate with various teams to drive automation, support the tax technology team, and stay updated on tax law changes that impact Amazon’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on data delivery, research, and analysis of complex financial data sets.
- Collaborate with customer teams to improve efficiency and controllership in current tax processes.
- Drive process improvements and coordinate with the Tax Technology team for streamlining and automation.
- Develop scalable tax models for various calculations and review tools using technology.
- Prepare and review tax adjustments, audit-ready workpapers, and federal tax returns for US reporting.
- Stay informed about tax law changes and assess their impact on the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Proficiency in at least one data-focused technology tool, such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, Amazon QuickSight, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA and/or MST.
- Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, and/or Essbase.
- Experience with Corptax.
- Program/Project Management experience.
- Strong passion for process, data, and efficiencies.
- Strategic and big-picture thinker with a focus on results and execution.
