Staff AI Solutions Engagement Manager – Google – Waterloo, ON
At the forefront of enterprise AI transformation, Google’s Applied AI Solutions Consulting Team in Waterloo, Ontario is looking for a Staff AI Solutions Engagement Manager to join one of the most strategically significant teams in the Google Cloud ecosystem. This is not a peripheral role — it sits at the very nexus of Product, Engineering, and Customer, where experimental AI becomes production-grade reality for some of the world’s largest organisations.
Day-to-day, you’ll be shaping the technical direction of agentic AI deployments, guiding cross-functional teams, influencing product roadmaps, and directly building solutions that handle real-world challenges at massive scale — from AI-powered call centres to automated food ordering systems. If you thrive on solving high-stakes technical challenges with real business impact, this opportunity is worth your serious attention.
About the Role: Staff AI Solutions Engagement Manager
The Google Cloud Applied AI (AAI) Solutions Consulting Team functions as the technical and strategic engine behind Google’s most critical AI deployments. As a Staff AI Solutions Engagement Manager, you serve as both a direct builder and a strategic systems thinker, owning the end-to-end delivery of agentic AI solutions from initial concept through full-scale production. You’ll work alongside deployment specialists while simultaneously incubating new products and defining the best practices that will set the standard for the entire Google Cloud ecosystem.
This role demands someone who can bridge the gap between non-deterministic LLM outputs and deterministic enterprise systems — navigating the governance, security, and procurement complexities of Fortune 500 environments while influencing C-suite stakeholders. You’ll have direct access to model builders at Google DeepMind and Vertex AI, as well as Global 1000 customers through existing Google Cloud relationships. The opportunity in this space is genuinely extraordinary.

Responsibilities
As a Staff AI Solutions Engagement Manager, you’ll be deeply hands-on while simultaneously guiding strategic direction. - Mitigate high-stakes escalations by providing direct debugging and architectural guidance to both customer engineering teams and C-suite stakeholders
- Deploy pre-GA features in real-world environments to stress-test capabilities, and synthesise field intelligence to directly influence Google Cloud Product and Engineering roadmaps
- Advocate for foundational frameworks such as Agent-MVC, and pioneer advanced techniques including meta-prompting and cyclic reasoning loops to accelerate time-to-value
- Bridge LLM outputs with enterprise systems — connecting non-deterministic AI outputs to deterministic platforms like SAP and Salesforce to ensure safe, reliable operations within rigid guardrails
- Mentor deployment specialists and act as a team multiplier, defining best practices that scale across the entire Google Cloud ecosystem

The ideal candidate combines hands-on engineering expertise with the strategic acumen to influence executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience is required; a Master’s in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred
- 7+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Principal Consultant

- Experience building and scaling complex production systems and managing multi-stakeholder technical projects, ideally including GCP environment setup and cloud architecture
- Proven ability to bridge the gap between LLM capabilities and deterministic enterprise systems such as Salesforce and SAP
- Leadership and influence skills — demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage executive stakeholders in large organisations
