Regional travel is required given the geographic scope of the role.

Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be at the intersection of technical expertise and operational leadership. From conducting field audits to advising senior business leaders, every responsibility contributes to reducing risk and embedding a culture of safety across Tesla’s energy and service operations.
- Advise Tesla Energy business leaders, associates, EHS members, and contractors on all EHS matters as a trusted technical resource
- Conduct learning-focused field observations and assurance activities, documenting findings and collaborating with supervisors and operations teams to identify improvement opportunities
- Apply electrical and EHS technical expertise to ensure legal compliance and risk management across all product deployment phases, including safe design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance
- Oversee adherence to EHS management plans by site leads and area managers; conduct regular audits of risk assessments and evaluate PPE and safety equipment adequacy
- Investigate EHS events, analyse root causes, and develop preventative actions while promoting Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) principles
- Identify operational gaps and develop creative EHS solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams, covering electrical and other safety aspects
- Lead EHS meetings to communicate improvements, performance metrics, and learnings; educate and empower teams on EHS concepts in the field
Requirements / Skills

- Minimum 3 years of progressive EHS experience in large-scale organizations, with a background in EHS, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Extensive experience in electric power generation, transmission, storage, or distribution industries; detailed knowledge of lithium-ion battery storage is a strong asset
- Proficiency in OSHA safety program development and a deep understanding of electrical standards including NFPA 70-E, IEEE, and NEC, with hands-on experience working with energized equipment in industrial settings
- Strong communication skills — written and verbal — with the ability to interact effectively across senior management, regulators, frontline workers, and third-party clients
- Proven project management ability in complex, multidisciplinary assignments, including experience developing and delivering EHS training programs
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite and demonstrated ability to apply governmental and regulatory EHS regulations across varied operational settings
