Responsibilities

The Sort Manager role centres on keeping FedEx Ground’s sort operations running smoothly and safely every shift. From directing staff on the floor to ensuring regulatory compliance, your work has a direct impact on the facility’s performance and the timely movement of packages across the network.

  • Manage and oversee the entire sort operations within the FedEx Ground Dorval facility
  • Support and enforce the FedEx Ground Safety Above All Culture across all operational activities
  • Ensure compliance with FXG policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations
  • Lead and supervise sort staff, providing direction and guidance throughout each shift
  • Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions when needed
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 70 lbs and manoeuvring packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Operate in a bilingual environment, communicating effectively in both French and English

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in business or logistics management, combined with demonstrated leadership experience. FedEx is looking for someone who is currently part of the FedEx management team or has been endorsed through the LEAP/EXCEL program, and who brings the right mix of technical and interpersonal skills to lead a night shift operation.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four (4) years of business experience, with preference for two (2) years in transportation, logistics, or a related service industry
  • Current FedEx management membership or LEAP/EXCEL endorsement is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record (no more than two violations or accidents in the past 24 months)
  • Bilingual (French and English) as required for all Quebec-based positions
  • Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with proper equipment
