At the heart of this position is the ability to design secure, scalable architectures that support cloud migration, application modernisation, and the development of AI-driven solutions. You’ll guide customers through technical decisions, lead whiteboarding sessions, and build proof-of-concept projects that help enterprise teams move forward with confidence. Whether you’re presenting at events or running workshops, your role is to make complex technology accessible and actionable.
Collaboration is central to everything you’ll do. You’ll work with cross-functional AWS teams, contribute product feedback to AWS engineering groups, and mentor your teammates. Beyond serving customers, you’ll actively support organizational growth through recruiting, knowledge sharing, and staying current with the latest developments in cloud and AI technologies.
Benefits and Salary
This position comes with a competitive base salary range of $115,100 to $166,900 CAD annually for the Vancouver location. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs), with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, and basic life & AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being.

Responsibilities
As a Solutions Architect at AWS, your work spans customer-facing technical strategy and hands-on cloud design. Each day brings a mix of architecture reviews, customer meetings, and collaborative building sessions that directly shape how enterprise organizations adopt and benefit from the cloud.
- Design scalable, secure cloud architectures to support migration, modernisation, and cloud-native and AI-driven solutions
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers identify opportunities and risks in their technical decisions while anticipating evolving needs
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions, communicating complex concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
- Develop and deliver technical content including workshops, prototypes, and presentations, and speak at events to accelerate technology adoption
- Lead whiteboarding sessions, technical discussions, and proof-of-concept activities to guide customer decision-making and drive innovation
- Contribute to organizational growth by providing product feedback to AWS engineering teams, participating in recruiting, and mentoring teammates
- Stay current with evolving technologies and continuously apply new learnings to help customers move forward with confidence
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in cloud architecture alongside the communication skills to engage effectively with enterprise stakeholders at all levels. AWS values candidates who can bridge the gap between technical complexity and business outcomes, making clarity and adaptability just as important as hands-on expertise.
- 3+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics
- Experience understanding business and end-customer needs and translating them into appropriate technical solutions
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse business and technical audiences
- Experience designing and implementing Well-Architected solutions in distributed systems and cloud architectures
- Strong technical foundation in cloud architecture, data, AI/ML, and software development
- Familiarity with modern architectures such as microservices, serverless, and event-driven systems
