About the Role: Service Deli Clerk

As a Service Deli Clerk, you’ll be responsible for the full cycle of deli food preparation — from slicing vegetables and combining ingredients to baking in commercial ovens and packaging finished products using automated wrapping equipment. You’ll follow Costco formulas and quality standards to ensure every item in the display case meets the department’s consistency requirements.

Maintaining a clean and safe workspace is central to this role. You’ll be expected to comply with health codes including sanitation protocols, temperature monitoring, and pull date management. Working closely with your team, you’ll also help restock prep areas, perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, and assist in other parts of the department as needed.

Responsibilities

The Service Deli Clerk role covers a wide range of food preparation and kitchen tasks. Every day brings a mix of cooking, assembling, packaging, and cleaning duties that keep the deli running smoothly and the display case fully stocked with fresh, high-quality products.

• Prepare and cook rotisserie chickens, ribs, and entrees using commercial and rotisserie ovens
• Assemble take-and-bake pizzas, party trays, salads, and meal components following Costco formulas and diagrams
• Slice vegetables for salads, entrees, and garnishes on prepared food items
• Package, wrap, seal, weigh, and label products using an automated wrapping machine
• Stock and rotate the display case to maintain freshness and visual presentation
• Monitor finished products to ensure quality and consistency standards are consistently met
• Comply with health codes, including sanitation procedures, temperature logs, and pull date enforcement
• Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning on deli equipment, including disassembly, sanitizing, and washing in a 3-compartment sink
• Complete daily production documents, time and temperature records, and sanitation checklists
• Provide prompt and courteous member service throughout each shift

Requirements / Skills

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not mandatory
