In this position, you’ll partner closely with enterprise financial services customers to understand their unique challenges and craft tailored cloud solutions. From deep architectural discussions to contributing to white-papers and technical blogs, your work will have broad reach — both internally and with the clients you serve. You’ll also act as a bridge between customers, engineering teams, and support, ensuring that customer needs are addressed promptly and effectively.

Beyond the technical work, this role demands strong communication skills. You’ll be presenting to executive-level stakeholders, collaborating across sales and technical teams, and helping build long-term trust with customers as they navigate their journey to the cloud. The AWS Solutions Architecture team supports your growth through a comprehensive learning programme that includes self-paced learning, instructor-led training, and hands-on project experience.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary for this position in Toronto ranges from $146,000 to $211,600 CAD annually. As part of Amazon’s total compensation package, the offer may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location. Responsibilities

As a Senior Solutions Architect supporting Financial Services clients, your work spans both the strategic and technical sides of cloud adoption. From crafting architecture blueprints to driving revenue alongside sales, you’ll be accountable for meaningful outcomes at every touchpoint with your customers.

• Build deep relationships with FSI customers to become a trusted advisor for their most critical workloads and digital transformation initiatives
• Support revenue objectives by facilitating the adoption and migration of applications, software, and services onto the AWS platform in partnership with the sales team
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and lead deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment
• Contribute to publications such as white-papers, technical blogs, and internal resources to share and scale your knowledge across the AWS community
• Act as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support functions to ensure customer needs are addressed effectively
• Shape and execute strategy to build mindshare and broaden the use of the AWS platform across customer organizations

Requirements / Skills

AWS is seeking a candidate who combines strong technical domain expertise with the ability to communicate clearly at both the engineering and executive level. Experience in the financial services industry is a significant asset, as is a genuine curiosity for how technology can solve complex business problems.

• 7+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data and analytics
• 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures
• Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level stakeholders and clients
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Cloud Technology Certification (e.g., Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional, or Cloud DevOps Engineering) is preferred
• Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise environments is an asset
• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, and industry verticals is preferred
• Familiarity with large-scale automation and workflow management is an asset
