Senior Solutions Architect, Financial Services – Amazon – Toronto, ON

AWS is on the hunt for a Senior Solutions Architect to join their Financial Services & Insurance (FSI) team in Toronto, Ontario. You’ll be advising FSI customers on AWS platform adoption, shaping cloud architecture decisions, contributing to thought leadership content, and bridging the gap between technical teams and executive stakeholders. About the Role: Senior Solutions Architect, Financial Services

As a trusted advisor to FSI clients, you’ll be responsible for designing highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures tailored to each customer’s unique business challenges. Working backwards from defined customer outcomes, you’ll help financial services organizations understand the full value of AWS cloud technologies — from infrastructure modernisation to advanced analytics and security. You’ll also collaborate closely with AWS Sales to support revenue growth objectives and accelerate cloud adoption across a broad customer base.

This role demands strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-suite stakeholders. Beyond client work, you’ll contribute to white-papers, blogs, and internal publications, helping to scale your expertise across the wider AWS community. The team is invested in your long-term development, offering self-paced learning, instructor-led training, hands-on projects, and job shadowing within the AWS ecosystem.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary range for this position is $146,000 to $211,600 CAD annually for Toronto. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location. Responsibilities

This position requires you to operate as both a strategic advisor and a hands-on technical expert. You’ll be building lasting relationships with FSI customers while simultaneously driving cloud adoption and revenue growth in partnership with the AWS Sales team. • Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor for critical workloads supporting their digital transformation and cloud journey
• Support revenue objectives through the adoption and migration of applications, software, and services onto the AWS platform in partnership with sales
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment
• Contribute to publications including internal and customer-facing white-papers and blogs to scale knowledge across the wider community
• Act as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to address and resolve customer needs effectively
• Shape and execute strategy to build mindshare and broaden the use of the AWS platform across customer organisations

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of financial services industry knowledge and deep cloud architecture expertise. AWS values candidates who can think strategically about business and technology challenges, communicate effectively at all levels, and bring a genuine curiosity to everything they do. Experience in FSI applications and infrastructure is a significant asset in this role.

• 7+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics
• 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
• Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level stakeholders and clients
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Cloud Technology Certification (e.g., Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional, or Cloud DevOps Engineering) is preferred
• Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise environments is an asset
• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base, and industry verticals is preferred
• Knowledge of large-scale automation and workflow management or equivalent is an asset
