Responsibilities
The Registered Pharmacy Technician role at Costco Halifax covers a broad range of pharmacy and patient service duties. - Assist patients at the pharmacy counter, receive written prescriptions, and retrieve filled prescriptions for pick-up

- Fill prescriptions by pulling stock, counting medication, labelling containers, and pricing under the pharmacist’s supervision
- Complete packaging verification for prescriptions previously reviewed by the pharmacist for therapeutic appropriateness
- Alert the pharmacist to potential drug interactions involving prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Verify prescriptions and refills with physicians by phone and take verbal prescriptions as permitted by provincial regulations
- Prepare and process third-party insurance claims, invoices, and accounting entries using the computerized system
- Order, receive, and stock prescription drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter products following storage procedures and merchandising standards
- Support other warehouse areas as needed on occasion
Requirements / Skills
Costco is looking for a licensed and certified Pharmacy Technician who is in good standing with the provincial regulatory body and brings strong technical and interpersonal skills to the team. Candidates with existing Costco Pharmacy experience will be given preference in the selection process.
- Provincial Pharmacy Technician certification — completed through a Community College program or equivalent provincial pathway
